Hello and welcome. I'm Leslie Robinson. I was born in New Jersey, raised in New Hampshire and currently live in Washington. Despite my connection to the coasts, I have nothing against the states in between.
For about a decade, I wrote a biweekly humor column for LGBTQ newspapers and magazines around the country, including Seattle Gay News, Dallas Voice, (Michigan) Between The Lines, Philadelphia Gay News, (Minnesota) Lavender Magazine, (North Carolina) Q-Notes and South Florida Gay News. When I stopped writing the "General Gayety" column, I experienced a none-too-attractive withdrawal. There was nothing else for it: the General Gayety blog was born.
Here I comment on all aspects of queer life, in the U.S. and around the world. The ascension of Donald Trump has led to an expanding of my lens, because I just can't help myself.
This blog includes memes, cartoons and videos that I definitely didn't create but find funny. Each Wednesday I offer "This Week's Quote," pearls from other folks that are timely or queer or both.
